Energy in user defined frequency band

If I want to use this option in parameter measurement, at processing Spectrum Analyzer Properties, than I can define the two frequencys for a certain band, but I cannot see this in a smaller spectrum, and I also cannot see the result in a reduced dB(A) level in the multimeter.
Is there another step to take, to see/measure the reduced energy, compared to the 'fullrange' spectrum?
Is it possible to use this option in previous stored .wav MI-files?
And what slopes are used at the 'border-frequencys'? Or can I also define this?

The results are displayed on the top of the spectrum graph. In Version 3.2, the results will be displayed only in Vrms. In the coming V3.3, the results will be displayed according to the Y axis selected. This function can be used for real time sampled data as well as the data from a WAV file. The energy in a frequency band is calculated based on the FFT bins contained in that frequency band.
